  • Gibsons launches Beachcomber’s celebrations
    “In the early 1970s, The Beachcombers outdrew Hockey Night in Canada with an audience of 3.4 million. It sold to over 50 countries. Lasting 19 years and 374 episodes, the series was the longest running drama in Canadian TV history and came within one year of the U.S. leader, Gunsmoke. Finally wrapping up in 1990, it outlasted shows like M*A*S*H and Laugh-In.”
