  • The era of the endless Gemini Awards ends tonight
    Six awards will be handed out tonight. One is Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role. That should be between Angela Asher for 18 to Life and Tracy Dawson for Call Me Fitz. Dawson will probably get it. In Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role, Peter Keleghan should win for 18 to Life, but so might Jason Priestley for Call Me Fitz. Read more.

Gemini musical performances and ticket sales

26th ANNUAL GEMINI AWARDS INTENSIFY: PRIMETIME GALA FAST APPROACHING AS CBC REVEALS MUSICAL PERFORMANCES & GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS GO ON SALE TO THE PUBLIC

The CBC and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) are proud to announce three remarkable performances on the 26th ANNUAL GEMINI AWARDS, airing on September 7, 2011 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT).

The one-hour live gala will include performances by:

  • Jim Cuddy, Blue Rodeo front man and celebrated music icon releasing his 3rd solo album this month.
  • City and Colour, alias of Juno Award winning singer-songwriter Dallas Green.
  • Deborah Cox, multi-platinum artist and judge of CBC’s Cover Me Canada, will join forces with rising star Kellylee Evans, who is fresh off a 2011 Juno Award win from her latest jazz album, Nina.

26th Annual Gemini Awards presenter lineup loaded with homegrown heavyweights as the stars come out to play

The CBC and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT) are pleased to announce the presenter line up for the 26th ANNUAL GEMINI AWARDS taking place on September 7, 2011 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) During the one-hour prime time special, host Russell Peters will be joined by the leading actors of Canada’s hottest shows, including Jason Priestley from Call Me Fitz, Yannick Bisson from Murdoch Mysteries, Callum Keith Rennie from the breakout series Shattered, Craig Olejnik from The Listener, and Hugh Dillon from Durham County and Flashpoint.

Other confirmed presenters include:

  • Legendary comedic actress, Catherine O’Hara
  • How I Met Your Mother’s sitcom superstar Alan Thicke
  • Talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos
  • Host of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Leah Miller
  • Olympic Figure Skater and Battle of the Blades contestant Marie-France Dubreuil
