    “La Presse television critic, Hugo Dumas’s review was headlined ‘Bad vaudeville in hijabs.’ He opened with, ‘Like our friends in the Rest of Canada, the series … is polite, smiles abundantly, respects the conventions, does not provoke fiery debate and … flirts with being utterly boring.’ The coup de grâce of the article was this: ‘I had the unpleasant impression that I was attending very ordinary summer theatre.’ Meanwhile, Caroline Roy, at Le Journal de Montréal, seemed to like the series (it’s often difficult to tell with her), and offered, ‘Prejudices between the Muslims and ‘Canadiens de souche’ explode but always in a humorous tone.'” Read more.
