#1 New Canadian drama MOTIVE delivers 1.01 million viewers, up 24% with third episode 

THE AMAZING RACE gave viewers a MOTIVE to stick around, delivering 1.01 million viewers at 9 p.m. for CTV’s newest original series. Winning its timeslot, MOTIVE was up 24% with total viewers and 30-66% with key adult demos versus last week’s episode. The #1 new Canadian drama of the season, MOTIVE’s series-to-date, three-week average is now 1.06 million viewers.

There was no getting away from Patricia Isaac last Sunday night. The Vancouver-based actor is a regular this year on CBC’s Republic of Doyle and appeared on CTV’s Motive, both of which air at 9 p.m. “I had to PVR,” Isaac says. “That’s pretty awesome, actually. The execution-style murder of a news shop proprietor with high-level military training leads Detectives Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Vega (Louis Ferreira) to a local gang who are terrorizing the community’s residents. Further investigation reveals that the news shop owner was stalking a respected paediatric doctor and her family, leading Angie to question the doctor’s credentials and to a motive that lies in a secret past that has returned to haunt her.

The gang is forced to stage an intervention against an increasingly erratic Bo. Bo believes the only way to save someone close to her is to accept help from the person she trusts the least.
