    So when the fictional Gerry Duncan, protagonist of the new CBC sitcom Mr. D, stands up to meet his new teaching colleagues at a staff meeting and explains, while gesturing at his physique, “as you can see, my background is in physical education,” it’s a scene that draws at least in part on the actor’s own experiences. “These are my stories,” says Dee, who is also a producer and the show’s head writer. “I lived this for 10 years, so a lot of this stuff is coming from my own head.” Read more.
