Saving Hope debuts with 1.53 million viewers

Just what the doctor ordered! The series premiere of CTV’s new original series SAVING HOPE debuted #1 last night with 1.52 million viewers on CTV. The series now ranks as the highest rated series premiere for an original Canadian series for the 2011/2012 season* and is the highest premiere of any summer series this season, U.S. or Canadian. SAVING HOPE also finished #1 last night with A18-34, A18-49 and the key female demos nationally and ranked #1 in key market of Toronto with 2+, A18-49 and A25-54.

An encore of the SAVING HOPE series premiere airs Sunday, June 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast listings). New episodes of SAVING HOPE and the original digital-only series ASK GAVIN are available on demand following the CTV television broadcast at CTV.ca/SavingHope, on the CTV App and the CTV Mobile Channel available on Bell Mobile TV. SAVING HOPE is also available to stream live on CTV Mobile Channel available on Bell Mobile TV. 

In Episode 2 of SAVING HOPE (June 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), titled “Contact,” Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) treats a young boy with mysterious symptoms while dealing with the arrival of Charlie’s (Michael Shanks) ex-wife. Elsewhere in the hospital, Joel (Daniel Gillies) and Maggie (Julia Taylor Ross) try to help a patient who refuses life-saving treatment on religious grounds. Plus, Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) scrubs in as interim Chief of Surgery and challenges Alex on her ability to be a doctor while attending to her comatose fiancé.

Starring Erica Durance (SMALLVILLE), Michael Shanks (STARGATE ATLANTIS), Daniel Gillies (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES), Wendy Crewson (Away From Her), Huse Madhavji (CALL ME FITZ), Julia Taylor-Ross (ROOKIE BLUE), and Kristopher Turner (THE LISTENER), SAVING HOPE is from acclaimed Gemini award-winning producers Ilana Frank and David Wellington (THE ELEVENTH HOUR, WOULD BE KINGS, ROOKIE BLUE).   • Continuum blasts off to 900,000 on Showcase
    The new sci-fi drama Continuum premiered to an overnight, estimated 900,000 Sunday night on Showcase. The specialty series, about a cop from the future on the hunt for a gang of terrorists, was the most watched TV show in Canada Sunday at 9, beating a movie on CTV, and topping both CBC (a rerun of Republic of Doyle) and Global (a repeat of The Good Wife) combined.
