Canada’s home-grown comedy bests simulcasts of Heroes and Prison Break
On the eve of the Gemini Awards this Sunday, Canadian viewers have voted with their remotes, and Corner Gas is the hands down winner. CTV’s home-grown comedy series bested simulcasts of Heroes and Prison Break, data from BBM Nielsen Research confirms today. The shenanigans of the residents of Dog River attracted 1.5 million viewers on CTV, topping both Prison Break (1.35 million; FOX/Global) and Heroes (1.33 million; NBC/Global).
At 9:30 p.m., CTV’s Corner Gas became the No. 4 show of the night with 1.48 million viewers, up 14% compared to last week. Head-to-head, Corner Gas led Heroes by 11%.
