I’d seen her from afar on the set of Mazes And Monsters, a 1982 Toronto made TV movie where I was interviewing the lovely Anne Francis about her autobiography.

“When Calls the Heart†is based on Janette Oke’s bestselling Canadian book series which chronicles the story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Army Wives’ Erin Krakow), a young teacher who is uprooted from her high society life, and unto a classroom post in a 1910s coal town in the Western Frontier. There, she encounters not only the harsh climate and restless students, but also the town’s new Constable, the handsome Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) in his Red Serge uniform. The show also stars Lori Loughlin (“Full Houseâ€, “90210â€) as Abigail Stanton, the resilient and adventurous coal miner’s widow.
