The Canadian-produced series shares its nomination with two high-profile US shows: John & Kate plus 8 and Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels. Family Restaurant: The Quons was selected from hundreds of entries from around the world for this honour. The winners will be announced in California on June 3rd at an event designed to be the industry’s first truly global celebration of factual entertainment excellence.

Haven starts production in Halifax

SHOWCASE’S HAVEN BEGINS PRODUCTION IN HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
- New drama series slated for an exclusive Canadian premiere July 12, 2010 at 10pm et/pt on Showcase
Showcase’s all-new drama series Haven, based on the novella The Colorado Kid from renowned author Stephen King, commenced production on April 20 just outside of Halifax in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Haven stars Emily Rose (Damages) as Audrey Parker, the shrewd and confident FBI agent with a lost past who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine to solve the murder of a local ex-con. Before long, her natural curiosity lands her in the epicenter of activity in this curious enclave, which turns out to be a longtime refuge for people that are afflicted with a remarkable range of supernatural abilities.
