Following the nationwide vote on Monday night, host Ben Mulroney announced live on CTV tonight that Mark Day from Portugal Cove-St. Philips, NL was the latest competitor to be eliminated from Canadian Idol. The 20-year-old Student and Respite Care Worker was eliminated after landing in the bottom three for a second consecutive week tonight.

Toronto’s Sebastian Pigott is the latest competitor to be eliminated from Canadian Idol, it was revealed live on CTV tonight. The 25-year-old singer, actor and writer goes home after landing in the Bottom Three for the third week in a row. Seven singers remain to perform in next week’s “U.K. Hits” episode, featuring previously confirmed guest star Tom Jones. The superstar will mentor the Top 7 for the Performance Episode airing Monday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET and then perform live on the Canadian Idol stage the following night, Tuesday, August 5 at 8 p.m. ET (visit idol.ctv.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

CTV announced tonight that multiple Grammy and JUNO Award winning singer Anne Murray will become the latest powerhouse mentor to share her considerable expertise and work with the Canadian Idol finalists as they perform selections from her legendary songbook on Monday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV.
