CHUM Television announced today that “Canada’s Next Top Model” will return for Cycle 2 with Jay Manuel (“America’s Next Top Model”, “Style Her Famous”) as Host/Executive Producer. The hugely popular Canadian reality series, based on the phenomenally successful “America’s Next Top Model” franchise, will hit the airwaves on Citytv in the spring of 2007.


“We’ve had tremendous ratings success and viewer response with both ‘America’s Next Top Model’ and ‘Canada’s Next Top Model'”, said Roma Khanna, Senior Vice President Content and Co-Head, CHUM Television. “Not only does Jay provide us with natural synergies with the flagship show he is also a fan favourite. We are absolutely thrilled that he will be coming home to Canada to take on the role of Host. He will be an integral part of the success of both shows.”

In Cycle 2, he took the reins as Photo Shoot Art Director and Producer, pushing the girls through the rigors of the fashion industry. Three years and seven cycles later, Jay’s popularity with fans has become an integral part of the ratings success of “America’s Next Top Model”™. Beginning October 31st, 2006, “Canada’s Next Top Model” begins its nationwide search to find 10 participants — 10 young women who think they can make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modelling. Do you think you have what it takes to be “Canada’s Next Top Model”? To enter, you must be female, between the ages of 18-27 and be prepared to spend five weeks away from your family and friends. Participants are invited to go to www.citytv.com to download the official application kit. Deadline for applications is FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15th, 2006.

The eight-part series will return to air on Citytv in the spring of 2007 and will provide dramatic twists and turns as participants compete to master the skills that are essential in the profession. The aspiring models will live together as they learn the ins-and-outs of the fashion industry from leading fashion experts.

Each one-hour episode is built around an important aspect of the modelling profession. Participants must demonstrate both inner and outer beauty as they learn to master the catwalk, fashion photo shoots and deal with the glare of the media, all under the watchful eye of surveillance cameras that chronicle every move. One cast member will be eliminated each week and the last model standing will win the coveted title of “Canada’s Next Top Model”.

I wish to apply when you the time comes because I get stop by random people who say I should. I would love to model and have the chance to become Canada Next Top Model. txs jenn
