Alex Strachan of CanWest Media does a little more than reprint the CTV media release:
- ‘Idol’ producer lashes out at voters

Gold noted that Vancouver and Montreal have also been traditionally under-represented on Idol’s national stage. Gold hypothesized that there are more cultural distractions in Canada’s big cities than in regional areas.”

I’m glad to hear that Toronto doesn’t vote, now I’m glad for Vancouver and Montreal as well. It sounds to me like citities with legitimate, thriving music scenes aren’t bothering with Canadian (flash in the pan) Idol
