Host Matt Dunigan headlines new Canadian barbecue series premiering May 19
Nothing says summer like barbecue and this year Food Network is kicking off the season with sizzling barbecue recipes in the new Canadian original series Road Grill premiering Monday, May 19 at 2pm ET and 7pm ET. Listed as one of the CFL’s Top 50 players and a member of the CFL Hall of Fame, host Matt Dunigan takes his Grill Team to a variety of different events, spreading love, good food and a party wherever they go. From an ultimate tournament to a skydiving jamboree, Road Grill features exciting locations, great grilling secrets and some amazing barbecue eats.
“Growing up in Texas and Louisiana means two things: barbecue and football. So I guess it’s no surprise I’m crazy for both,” say host Matt Dunigan. “There’s no such thing as chef school for barbecue so I’ve pretty much learned everything through trial and error. Now I get to quarterback the Road Grill team and between us, we’ve come up with some serious barbecue recipes.”
In each episode Matt and his team prepare a minimum of three grilled dishes as well as a summer side dish all made from fresh and healthy ingredients. From Slow Smoked Pork Butt in a Papaya Marinade to a Breakaway Pear and Fennel Salad, there’s no stopping this team from spreading the love of great barbecue.
The first two World Broadcast Premiere episodes include:
