From a media release:
PROJECT RUNWAY CANADA UNVEILS ALL-NEW INTERACTIVE WEBSITE
FANS JUST ONE CLICK AWAY FROM EXCLUSIVE SERIES CONTENT
Style knows no bounds…Fashion came to life today as Canwest launched a newly designed website (GlobalTV.com/runway) for the hit reality series and Gemini Award-winning, Project Runway Canada.
Starting Tuesday, January 27th – 10pm ET/PT the first of 14 episodes premieres on Global.
“From exclusive interviews and designer inspiration pages, to an extensive photo gallery and episodic streaming, the site fully complements the on-air broadcast,†says Pary Bell, VP Content, Canwest Digital Media. “We’ve gone beyond eye-catching graphics and high-impact imagery and brought users two steps closer to the action, creating a robust and comprehensive package fans will love.â€
The user-friendly site features an array of exclusive content fans won’t find anywhere else. Users can peruse inspiration pages on all 14 designer hopefuls and their personal style, behind-the-scenes photo galleries, a L’Oréal Paris beauty page providing professional advice and the option to vote on a show related question each week.
Additional elements include home video submissions, official casting call clips, as well as an update on season one contestants in a special “Life After Runway†segment.
To fully experience the Project Runway Canada website and all of its many new features, fans can visit GlobalTV.com/runway or Slice.ca/runway.
Style icon and international supermodel, Iman, returns as Host and leads a panel of expert industry insiders who will judge the talent and skills of 14 promising new designers from across the country. Respected Canadian fashion designer Brian Bailey will once again act as mentor to the designers as they take on weekly fashion challenges.
Faced with do-or-die tasks and extreme pressure, these aspiring designers endure the added stress of living under the same roof. Only one designer will win it all – a cover and feature spread in ELLE Canada, a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L’Oréal Paris, a ‘Runway to Retail’ business mentorship with Winners, and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
Resident judges Rita Silvan, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Canada, and Shawn Hewson, Creative Director of Bustle Clothing will be joined by an exciting line-up of celebrity guest judges each week, including actress Elisha Cuthbert, fashion model Coco Rocha and designer Wayne Clark.
