“Lam’s stories revolve around four main characters. The small-screen version focuses on the intertwined lives of three University of Toronto med-school graduates, across a span of 10 years, from their days as students to full-fledged practitioners. Fitz is a troubled air-ambulance doctor, with a lust for life and alcohol, who has never gotten over his love for Ming (Vancouver’s Mayko Nguyen).
