From Bill Harris of QMI Agency:
- ‘Drunk’, ‘Triumph’ move to Action
The official statement from Shaw says the new shows are a “great fit” for Action, since it’s a “male-skewing channel.” However, most industry observers will view this as a demotion, since Showcase is a significantly high-profile channel in Canada, while Action is not. Read more.

Can’t wait for both shows, but this move from Shaw SUCKS. It’s a slap in the face for the millions of Trailer Park Boys/Kenny Vs Spenny fans who helped make Showcase the channel it was. Now it just churns out endless cop shows and movies we all saw a long time ago.
Having watched the trailers, these new shows look amazing, Drunk and on Drugs looks awesome. Your loss Showcase. I refuse to subscribe to Action, so I’ll be watching online.
Ugh. I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with this move if the shows were moved to TVtropolis or (like this would happen) Global, but Action?! In the middle of the summer? If that’s not a burial, I don’t know what burials are.
Does that mean Showcase will have more room on its schedule for a second season of Endgame? Hate to sound like a broken record, but boy I hope so!
