  • Fall premiere kicks off Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET before moving to its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning Sept. 27
  • Top rated series recently won three Gemini Awards, including Best Writing in a Dramatic Series for co-creators and showrunners Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern and Best Supporting Actor for fan favourite Sergio Di Zio

On the heels of three Gemini wins, FLASHPOINT returns to kick off Premiere Week on CTV with a powerful new Fall premiere on Monday September 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV. Airing on a new date and time this Fall, the series settles into its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning September 27 on CTV, followed by the DANCING WITH THE STARS results show at 9 p.m. ET and brand-new series UNFORGETTABLE at 10 p.m. ET (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Since FLASHPOINT’s Season 4 debut in July, the series has averaged 1.51 million viewers, consistently winning the night on Fridays, making it a Top 10 series (#8) in Canada this summer.

New episodes of FLASHPOINT are available on demand the day following their television broadcast on the CTV Video Player.

Renewed in July for a fifth season by CTV, FLASHPOINT led this year’s Gemini nominations: with 17, following 15 in 2010 and 19 in 2009. The series took home three 2011 Gemini Awards including Best Writing in a Dramatic Series (Mark Ellis, Stephanie Morgenstern), Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series (Sergio Di Zio), and Best Performance by an Actor in a Guest Role in a Dramatic Series (Tim Rozon).

In the Fall premiere entitled “Grounded” (Monday, September 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV), Team One is called when a group of armed hijackers force a passenger jet plane to land. As Parker tries to negotiate with the increasingly desperate criminals, the rest of Team One faces an almost impossible task – how to storm the plane without someone getting killed. With the help of brave passenger Holly McCord (Melanie Scrofano), the team races to find a solution, before hijacker Sandra Moore (Joanne Boland) carries out her deadly threats.

In the following week’s episode entitled “The War Within” (Tuesday, September 27 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV), Team One responds to a panicked 911 call: a masked gunman is threatening a group of teenagers in the Don Valley ravine and has abducted Joe Stanick (Luke Bilyk). But it turns out this gunman was no stranger to the youths. Joe was the author of a viral video prank that “outed” a fellow student, Ryan Bell (Tom Stevens), triggering humiliation at school, and an explosive confrontation with his parents. Now, Ryan’s engaged in a desperate and violent journey, hoping to win back his parents’ acceptance. Ed faces a sensitive suicide intervention that hits a bit too close to home… and Parker, inspired by Ryan’s struggle, gathers his own courage to speak the truth to the woman he loves.

In addition to all-new episodes which aired in simulcast with CBS this summer, CTV’s FLASHPOINT is also licensed in more than 100 territories worldwide, including RTL2 in Germany, Canal Plus in France and Veronica in the Netherlands.

FLASHPOINT stars an impressive list of talent, including Hugh Dillon (DURHAM COUNTY) as Ed Lane, team leader and lead sniper; Enrico Colantoni (VERONICA MARS) as Gregory Parker, the team sergeant and head negotiator; Amy Jo Johnson (FELICITY) as Julianna “Jules” Callaghan, secondary negotiator and rappelling expert; David Paetkau (WHISTLER) as Sam Braddock, the young hot-shot sniper on the team; Michael Cram (STARGATE: ATLANTIS) as Kevin “Wordy” Wordsworth, who specializes in close quarter combat; Sergio Di Zio (JUST BURRIED) as Mike “Spike” Scarlatti, explosives and tactical toys expert; and Clé Bennett (THE LINE) as Rafik “Raf” Rousseau, Team One’s newest diamond-in-the-rough recruit.
