From a media release:

COVER ME CANADA’s FINAL FOUR ROCK IT OUT PERFORMING WITH CANADIAN LEGENDS ALAN FREW, BILL HENDERSON, ALANNAH MYLES, DAVID CLAYTON THOMAS AND BRIAN VOLLMER

  • Whosarmy is safe from elimination while Warren Dean Flandez was sent home by the judges

CBC’s new live weekly musical competition series, COVER ME CANADA, rocked the crowds as Canadian music legends Alan Frew from Glass Tiger, Alannah Myles, David Clayton Thomas from Blood, Sweat and Tears and Helix’s Brian Vollmer joined the final four on stage to perform some of this country’s best rock hits. The show kicked off with Bill Henderson from Chilliwack joining Warren Dean Flandez, Ali Milner, The Melanie Morgan Band and Whosarmy for a group medley of Chilliwack’s 1970’s hit ‘Whatcha Gonna Do’.

At the conclusion of the show, it was revealed that Canada’s votes had saved Whosarmy, who covered Someday by Glass Tiger, from being eliminated by the judges.

Canadian audiences determine which artist is safe after the results of the online voting and social media engagement for each band is tallied. With Ali Milner, The Melanie Morgan Band, and Whosarmy left – COVER ME CANADA judges Jordan Knight (New Kids On The Block), chart-topping R&B sensation Deborah Cox and star-maker manager and record exec Ron Fair (Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls) and guest judge George Stroumboulopoulos announced that Warren Dean Flandez, who covered ‘You Make Me So Very Happy’ by Blood, Sweat and Tears, was eliminated from the competition.

“We’re getting close Canada to finding out who will be the next music star. At this point it’s all about spirit and the courage to push music boundaries. Ali Milner, The Melanie Morgan Band and Whosarmy have proven that they all have talent and something unique to offer. Now it’s about what they do with that talent and how they engage their audience,” commented Deborah Cox on behalf of the judges.
