Diane can’t resist a coconut cookie any more than Jessica King can resist a shoe sale, but she puts the cookies down long enough to talk about King returning to Showcase on February 29, Republic of Doyle’s great ratings news, the Geminis segregating international coproductions, the sad story of the death of Degrassi’s Neil Hope, Intelligence’s Chris Haddock joining Boardwalk Empire, a Radio-Canada series turning into an NBC pilot, and the Huffington Post article on Canadian TV that makes Diane want to upchuck her cookies.

New tonight: Rick Mercer Report, 22 Minutes, Arctic Air, Saw Dogs

Tonight Rick is in Quebec City for the Winter Carnival where he joins the ice-canoeing team from HMCS Montcalm for a race across the St. Lawrence River. He also goes to Winnipeg to skate at The Forks, which holds the Guinness record as ‘the longest rink in the world.’

Arctic Air, CBC – “Vancouver is Such a Screwed-Up City”
Bobby’s old life in Vancouver comes back to haunt him when he travels south with Mel and Krista to buy a new plane.

Saw Dogs, OLN – “Hang Time”
The carvers are tasked with creating a bust of a Superbowl champion punter, which will be unveiled at his retirement party in just a few days. Steve brings in guest carver Ken Tynan, who has a special talent for creating recognizable human features in wood. But even with Pete Rieger and Mark Colp helping on the project, Steve isn’t convinced that the carving team can actually deliver the commission on time.
