Shaftesbury, Pope Productions, andÂ CitytvÂ announced today that production has begun onÂ new drama series REX (wt). Centred on the partnership between a police detective and his hardworking dog, REX is a procedural drama with a twist. StarringÂ John ReardonÂ (Van Helsing, Continuum),Â Mayko NguyenÂ (Killjoys, Fahrenheit 451), andÂ Enrico ColantoniÂ (Bad Blood, Flashpoint), the eight-episode, 60-minute series is based on the long-running, international hit series Rex, a Cop’s Best Friend. Executive produced byÂ Christina Jennings,Â Scott Garvie, andÂ Paul Pope, the series has begun shooting inÂ St. John’s, Newfoundlandand will continue throughÂ December 2018.
Set inÂ St. John’s, Newfoundland,Â REXÂ is an action-packed police procedural drama focused on the partnership between a dedicated detective and his extraordinary former K9 dog. Rex and Charlie are a detective team that combine their individual skills to solve the most puzzling crimes. This is the first English-language adaptation of the highly successful European format that has aired in 125 countries around the world for 18 seasons.

Is this really the best we can do in this country? Is this really what our broadcasters think Canadians want to watch? I know there are writers with better ideas than this. I have better ideas than this and I’m not even in the industry. And we wonder why people think Canadian tv is such a joke.
This is the country where The Littlest Hobo is a cultural landmark to a generation of Canadians.

I like to know if It’s like the Rex in Rome series and the earlier one’s. I can understand the Italian version but my husband would like to know if there is an English version so he can watch it and understand it. When this new version would be coming to Australia.
