Production Begins on Season Two of Original Comedy Series Jeff Ltd

On the heels of last week’s Gemini nomination for Best Comedy Series, CTV and The Comedy Network announced today that principal photography has begun on Season 2 of their original comedy series, Jeff Ltd.

For the first time ever, the series will be shot in High Definition. Produced in association with Seymour & From Productions 2 Inc. and S & S Productions Inc., Jeff Ltd stars Jeff Seymour as the smooth-talking, fun-loving rascal Jeff Stevens, a nickel-and-dime advertising and promotions “genius-in-his-own-mind” who chases get-rich-quick schemes and women with reckless abandon. Production continues in studio and on location in Toronto and Hamilton until October 2, 2006.

Monday, Sept. 4

The Smart Woman Survival Guide, W Network: The Smart Woman Survival Guide is an innovative half-hour show that combines the best elements of the lifestyle and sitcom genres into a brand new format. The idea for the series was gleaned from W’s research that reveals that time-starved women are looking for shortcuts, tips and expert advice. The hybrid show-within-a-show format combines real-world tips and information on everything from cooking to cocktails, finance to fashion, with the comedy and drama of a sitcom. Airs Mondays at 8 p.m.

Roll Play, Treehouse: With 42 scripts written by renowned Canadian authors, 10 original new songs composed by acclaimed artists like Feist and Patrick Pentland of Sloan, and the magical puppets of the award-winning Famous People Players, the new live-action pre-school series Roll Play promises to get kids moving in a new and creative way. Created and produced by the makers of This is Daniel Cook, each four-minute episode is a narrated story or song about the adventures of characters like Frank the Crab, Giga the Dinosaur and Alice the Elephant. The movements of the Famous People Player puppets play out on a black background while children re-enact the puppets movements against a crisp white background. Visually stunning and completely compelling, Roll Play combines imaginative storytelling with active movements designed to encourage viewer participation. The series is endorsed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Airs Monday through Friday at 9:25 a.m. and 7:55 p.m., Saturdays at 11:25 a.m. and 7:55 p.m., and Sundays at 10:55 a.m. and 7:55 p.m. beginning September 4.

This is Emily Yeung, Treehouse: A live-action preschool TV series that follows host, Emily Yeung, as she discovers the world from her own unique perspective. In this original follow-up series to the award winning This is Daniel Cook, six-year-old Emily brings her effervescent personality to her adventures as she learns, explores and creates with everyone from snake handlers to professional basketball players, and from stuffed animal makers to cake bakers. Whoever her guest may be, inquisitive Emily is always up for a new experience or challenge. Airs Monday through Friday at 8:25 a.m. and 7:25 p.m. with four back-to-back episodes on Saturdays at noon.

Thursday, Sept. 7

Erky Perky, TYV: Erky Perky is a comedy series about two bugs, Erky and Perky, who live an idyllic life on a downtown hot dog stand – a cornucopia of crumbs, relish and wieners. They live the high life until one day they are swept away in a take-out bag and end up in a sterile suburban kitchen with no food in site. The two bickering, dimwitted and lazy bugs are forced to survive in the new and scary Land of Kitchen. Everyday they are obsessed with finding food, finding the “Great White Refrigerator” and ultimately finding their way home to the Land of Hot Dog Stand. Airs Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. beginning September 7.

Saturday, Sept. 9

Team Galaxy, YTV: The Far Out Adventures of Team Galaxy tells the story of three friends: Josh (voiced by Kirby Morrow) , Yoko (voiced by Kathy Griffin) and Brett (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) who have been chosen to attend Galaxy High, the coolest high school on earth, where they train to become space marshals. Throughout their adventures, the heroes of Team Galaxy have to multi-task between the tribulations of their teen lives and the excitement of cool space adventures where they will face the craziest alien villains ever seen. Airs Mondays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning September 9.
