Saving Hope returns with 1.1 million viewers

Young and Female: SAVING HOPE Returns With 1.1 Million Viewers on CTV

CTV’s SAVING HOPE returned last night with a bang, literally. A public shooting thrust the doctors into Hope Zion Hospital and back into the hearts of fans, as SAVING HOPE delivered 1.1 million viewers for its second season premiere on CTV. The most-watched program of the night nationally with younger (A18-34) and female (F18-34) viewers, SAVING HOPE also performed well in the markets. The premiere delivered strong ratings of 4.6 to 4.8 in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary for F18-34, and won the night for A18-34 in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. SAVING HOPE also saw half-hour growth nationally among all key adult and female demos.

Viewers can watch last night’s episode and catch up on Season 1 across CTV’s digital platforms, including CTV.ca, the CTV App, the CTV Mobile channel on Bell Mobile TV, and through video on demand partners such as Bell Fibe TV.

In next week’s episode entitled “Little Piggies” (Tuesday, July 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Alex (Erica Durance) must learn to stick up for herself and not be intimidated by Dawn – Charlie’s ex-wife (Michelle Nolden) in order to work alongside her and perform a minimally invasive heart procedure to save a patient’s life. Meanwhile, Joel (Daniel Gillies) unlocks a mystery to a young girl’s disease whilst getting some advice from Charlie (Michael Shanks), who is trying to figure out how to help his comatose patient come back from being a spirit. It’s a week of defying the odds at Hope Zion Hospital. Directed by Kelly Makin (FLASHPOINT, ROOKIE BLUE, LESS THAN KIND), this episode also features guest stars Daniel Kash (AGAINST THE WALL), Joel Keller (MEN WITH BROOMS), Rick Miller (CANADIAN MADE), Siobhan Murphy (ROOKIE BLUE), Stefani Kimber (ROOKIE BLUE) and Tammy Isbell (OVERRULED!).

As an added bonus, fans can see what happens after rounds over rounds in SAVING HOPE’s digital companion series LAST CALL, where the doctors ditch their scrubs and unwind over drinks. Had a tour Tuesday of the set of Bitten, launching early 2014 on Space. The genre series stars Laura Vandervoort (Ted, Smallville) as that rarest of species, a female werewolf. Also sinking their fangs into roles are Greyston Holt (Durham County) and Greg Bryk (Regenesis, XIII: The Series). Based on the beast-selling “Otherworld” books by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong, the series has werewolves mingling with humans who do not suspect that they walk among us.

Amazing Race Canada to include BodyBreak couple & married doctors

“BodyBreak” Fitness Icons and Incisive Married Doctors are the Latest Teams Announced for CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA

CTV cleared two more teams today for takeoff for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, the hottest competition series of the summer. Hosted by Olympic Champion Jon Montgomery (@jrmonty12), the next two teams joining seven others at the starting line in the awe-inspiring, all-Canadian race around the country are married “Body Break” fitness icons Hal and Joanne, from Oakville, ON; and Holly and Brett, married doctors from Montreal, QC, who are as sharp as scalpels and have studied The Race for years. Previously announced teams include dating couple Kristen and Darren, brothers Jody and Cory, twins Treena and Tennille, and two sets of best friends – Jet and Dave, and Jamie and Pierre. All teams will compete for the historic half a million dollar grand prize with the final two pairings announced tomorrow (June 27). Thousands of teams have entered, but only one team will run away with the historic grand prize for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA. Valued at more than half a million dollars including $250,000 in cash, the prize also features the opportunity to fly free for a year for two anywhere Air Canada flies worldwide (175 destinations) in Executive First Class (based on 10 trips for two), and two 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingrays. Picking up the pieces in ‘Saving Hope’ Season 2
Saving Hope‘s Season 1 finale was bittersweet in many ways. Not only were American fans of the Canadian show painfully aware that Season 2 would not air in the U.S. thanks to NBC’s decision to cancel the show, but international fans who rooted for Charlie (Michael Shanks) and Alex (Erica Durance) to be together again were left waiting at the alter. The second season picks up several months after that key event, but thankfully for those on Team Charlie, there is still hope for the star-crossed lovers. Continue reading.
