New tonight: Michael Tuesdays & Thursdays, The Debaters

Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays (9 p.m./9:30 NT check local listings): Who can Michael trust? His therapist has betrayed him and his girlfriend has known all along. Michael (Matt Watts) can’t face Claire (Tommie-Amber Pirie) who has transcribed every word of David’s book. Because David (Bob Martin) lied to him by withholding the truth, trust issues arise, which David attributes to Michael’s deeply rooted father issues. As an exercise, Michael writes a letter to his father who abandoned the family.

The Debaters (9:30 p.m./10 NT check local listings): Revenge is sweet, but not as sweet as beating your opponent on the Debaters. Has the time come for some of our senior rock musicians to hang up their Fenders?

No eliminations in Battle of the Blades

From a media release:

NO ELIMINATION TONIGHT – JUDGES SAVE ANABELLE LANGLOIS AND BRAD MAY FROM BEING “ICED” ON BATTLE OF THE BLADES

BOTB n- Week 4 - Ep

BATTLE OF THE BLADES’ judges used their first and only save option of the season to keep Anabelle Langlois and Brad May in the competition. While the judges felt that Anabelle and Brad’s performance fell short in the skate-off against the pair Violetta Afanasieva and Cale Hulse, they wanted to give them another chance. Head Judge Sandra Bezic praised Brad’s mastery of lifts and said that for all of the hard work he had put in, that he deserved more time to polish his figure skating skills.

This week NHL hockey legend and six-time Stanley Cup winner Bryan Trottier provided his insightful commentary on each pair’s performance as Guest Judge. Also, one of Canada’s figure skating icons and two-time Olympic Silver Medalist, Brian Orser, sat in for Jeremy Roenick in the Resident Judge chair this week on BATTLE OF THE BLADES.

Broadcast from the MasterCard Centre on Sunday, October 23 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC, the six pairs returning to compete on the ice are: Violetta Afanasieva and Cale Hulse; Tanith Belbin and Boyd Devereaux; Elena Berezhnaya and Curtis Leschyshyn; Tessa Bonhomme and David Pelletier; Marie-France Dubreuil and Bryan Berard and Anabelle Langlois and Brad May. The next dramatic, half-hour “skate-off” results show is on Monday, October 24 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT).
