OMNI FILM’S ICE PILOTS NWT IS BACK!

  • Ice Pilots NWT Season Two premieres on Wednesday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on History Television

Welcome back to “Holy *&%!#!”

Ice Pilots NWT, the hit docu-series from OMNI Film Productions following the adventures of renegade Arctic airline Buffalo Airways is back for a second season. And Season Two promises to be bigger and badder! Thirteen episodes packed with nail-biting challenges and riveting stories about the pilots, engineers and crew who risk everything to fly vintage warplanes across the last frontier on earth. Ice Pilots NWT Season Two (13 x 60′) premieres on Wednesday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on History Television. Please check local listings.

In Season Two, “Buffalo” Joe tests a new batch of “rampies” desperate to become Buffalo pilots, and Mikey travels to Venezuela and the UK in search of prized planes to add to Buffalo’s fleet. Pilots Devan and Scott struggle to maintain their cool as engines act up on the C-46 while crusty “Mr. Fix-It” Chuck faces off with a stubborn Electra. And a team of crack mechanics struggles to fit the DC-3 with skis in time for Arnie and AJ to land on a lake of rapidly thinning ice. But, nothing compares to the hockey fever that spreads through Buffalo as the DC-3 flies the iconic Stanley Cup on a tour of the North.

What’s more, the Ice Pilots NWT multi-platform campaign continues to soar in Season Two. Omni Film, in association with the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, has developed a mobile-optimized version of the highly successful website, www.icepilots.com. Beginning in Season Two, fans will be invited to interact with the TV show in real time during broadcast. On-air bugs will direct viewers to a quiz on their smartphones. Once they’ve answered all the questions, viewers can connect with other mobile fans via Facebook Connect and view an exclusive short video delivered instantly to their mobile device.

Ice Pilots NWT is produced by Omni Film Productions Ltd. in association with Shaw Media and with the participation of the Canadian Television Fund, the Rogers Cable Network Fund, the Province of British Columbia Film Incentive BC, the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit Program. The series is created and produced by David Gullason, and executive produced by Gabriela Schonbach, David Gullason and Michael Chechik.
