Ron James goes for tweeting record

This Wednesday, December 15, Ron James will attempt to set the world record for the most tweets in a single day – and he’s inviting the world to follow along. In fact, for every mention of the official hashtag #RonJames on December 15, a non-perishable item will be donated to Food Banks Canada.

Supported by a crack team of technical specialists, Ron will begin his day at 7:00am and sign off sixteen hours later at 11:00pm. Both online and on the run, Ron will be hoping to send out at least 500 tweets during the day – that’s nearly one message every 90 seconds that he’s online.

Santa Claus (Mark Critch) and his trusty Elf (Evan Solomon) visit Parliament Hill and spend time with Jack Layton, Michael Ignatieff and Gilles Duceppe. Also Christmas Tips from special guests including Peter Mansbridge, Lloyd Robertson, Kevin O’Leary, George Stroumboulopoulos, Michael Landsberg and Steven and Chris.

And guest appearances by singer/songwriter Rita MacNeil and Canadian Icon Gordon Pinsent. Particularly special (and not entirely authentic) appearances will also be made by Lady Gaga (Geri Hall), Rex Murphy (Mark Critch), Susan Boyle (Cathy Jones) and Chantal Hebert (Gavin Crawford).

CBC Television’s award-winning hit comedy series This Hour Has 22 Minutes presents a one-hour Christmas Special, Tuesday, December 14 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC Television headlined by audience favorites Mark Critch, Cathy Jones, Geri Hall and Gavin Crawford.
