Nicholas Campbell guests on A Heartland Christmas

From Cassandra Szklarski of The Canadian Press:

  • Canadian TV journeyman Campbell wonders what took ‘Heartland’ so long to call
“Since retiring his long-running role as Dominic Da Vinci on CBC-TV’s “Da Vinci’s City Hall” and “Da Vinci’s Inquest,” Nicholas Campbell has kept busy with a healthy stream of marquee guest spots, most recently with regular roles on the Showcase series “Haven” and CBC’s “Republic of Doyle.” And when it came to casting a gruff, hard-bitten Scrooge for a “Heartland” holiday special, the creators of the Alberta-set family series immediately thought of Campbell.” Read more.

New tonight: The Ron James Show on CBC with Christian Potenza and Deb McGrath

Friday, December 3 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC-TV

In this week’s episode of The Ron James Show Canada’s favourite comedian guides us through the pros and cons of travel; attempts to convince his wife that an unexpected guest is no reason to overlook the many benefits of house swapping; and turns to a friend for help rather than face the consequences of telling his girlfriend the truth. Larry Garibaldi teaches some politicians a lesson about the environment and Lil Ronnie realizes that no matter how badly you want something, it just never pays to cheat. And in his latest Ode to the Road, Ron pays tribute to Toronto, his second home and tries to convince the rest of Canada to give The Big Smoke a chance.

Guest cast: Christian Potenza (Riverdale), Deb McGrath (Little Mosque on the Prairie).

TV, eh? makeover

If you visit the TV, eh? website instead of reading through feeds, you’ll notice something a little different around here. The fabulous-to-work-with Gystworks came up with a cleaner, streamlined design. We’re still tweaking some things, like the menu and sidebars, but please let me know what you think and any suggestions for layout improvements.

I also recently switched web hosts from Hostpapa (“we proudly offer 6 kb/s downloads”) to 1&1, so things should be speedier around here, especially podcast downloads.
