From a media release:

CURTIS JOSEPH RETURNS TO THE RINK THIS WEEK AS BATTLE OF THE BLADES GUEST JUDGE

  • THEME: HALLOWEEN HORROR
  • SECOND CHANCE WEEK

The 4 Iced pairs on BOTB Oct 25Curtis Joseph, or “Cujo” as he’s known to hockey fans, has been announced as this week’s guest judge on BATTLE OF THE BLADES. He joins head judge Sandra Bezic and Jeremy Roenick for ‘Second Chance Week.’ In this surprising twist, the four iced pairs have been given the opportunity to get back in the battle. Skating to a horror-themed program, the four pairs will compete amongst themselves for one spot to rejoin the top four in regular competition next week.

Born in Keswick, ON, Curtis Joseph was one of the toughest goalies in NHL history. Throughout his NHL career Joseph played for a number of franchises, rising to prominence during playoff series with the Edmonton Oilers, and later with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a member of Canada’s gold medal winning team at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Joseph is a three-time NHL All-Star and was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for exemplifying leadership qualities on and off the ice and making noteworthy humanitarian contributions to his community. Joseph retired from hockey in early 2010 after a 21 year career in the NHL.
