Teletoon pilots find home online

ONLINE LAUNCH FOR TELETOON DETOUR PILOT PROJECTS

Straddling a wide range of topics, style of animation and comedy sensibilities, the ten pilot episodes created through the TELETOON Detour Pilot Project are set to roll out on Sympatico.ca and thedetour.ca from October 23. Aimed at adults aged 18 to 34, the ten pilots were selected from over 200 submissions for the TELETOON Detour Pilot Project initiative that launched in fall 2007 in an effort to encourage new comedic voices in the Canadian animation community and possibly find new programming for TELETOON’s evening and night time line-up.

    “It used to be hard to find a TV show that didn’t follow a strict formula, but now it’s getting harder to find one that does. Being Erica (airing on the CBC Tuesdays at 9 p.m.) began last year as a fantasy-comedy-drama in which the depressed, lonely title character (Erin Karpluk) goes to a mysterious therapist, Dr. Tom (Michael Riley), who sends her back in time to learn from her past mistakes. But when it returned for a second season last month, Erica was no longer lonely or depressed, and she spent the season premiere helping Dr. Tom instead of the other way round.” Read more.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada top 4 revealed; updated Toronto audition date

SYTYCDCThe Votes Are In: Canada’s Top 4 Dancers are EVERETT, JAYME RAE, TARA-JEAN and VINCENT as MELANIE and EMANUEL are Eliminated from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA

  • After close to two million votes the Top 4 will take to the stage for the final two-hour performance show, Tuesday, October 20 beginning at 8 p.m. ET on CTV
  • Canada’s favourite dancer will be revealed during a special two-hour season finale on Sunday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Season 3 Audition Tour now begins in Toronto on a new date of Saturday, November 14

Canada has spoken. It was revealed live on CTV by host Leah Miller that after close to two million votes from across the country following Tuesday night’s performance episode, EVERETT, JAYME RAE, TARA-JEAN and VINCENT are still in the running to become Canada’s favourite dancer as EMANUEL and MELANIE were eliminated from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. The Top 4 dancers will hit the stage during a special two-hour performance episode on Tuesday, October 20 beginning at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, before the winner is finally revealed during the live, two-hour finale on Sunday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local listings).
