Durham County season 1 on DVD

Muse Distribution International has engaged Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada, a leader in the crime and horror genre, as its exclusive service agent in Canada to distribute Durham County, the sophisticated and powerful series that explores violence in a suburban setting, in the Canadian home entertainment market. This title will be available for the first time ever on DVD September 9, 2008 in a three disc set packaged in a stunning foil slip case. Season two of Durham County is heading into production this fall and will premiere on The Movie Network (eastern Canada) and Movie Central (western Canada) in spring 2009.

Finding Body & Soul, a new documentary airing on CBC Television at 9:00 p.m. on September 10, takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Body & Soul, the original play commissioned by Dove and created by award-winning playwright Judith Thompson in May 2008.

About Finding Body & Soul:

  • Finding Body & Soul was Directed and Produced by Veronica Tennant, working together with Co-Director and Cinematographer Anita Doron.
  • This new documentary takes a backstage look at the inspirational real life stories of the thirteen cast members aged 45 to 78 who, with no previous acting experience, performed for the first time in Body & Soul.
  • Nine sold out performances of Body & Soul were staged at Toronto’s Young Centre for the Performing Arts in May 2008.

Canadian Idol Puts Prison Break Behind Bars with 1.5 Million Viewers

With one night to go before the winner is revealed, Canadian Idol is hitting all the right notes. Last night’s final performance episode was the No. 1 program on Canadian television last night with an audience of 1.5 million, delivering 50% more viewers than the new FOX/Global simulcast of Prison Break (978,000, down 22%) at 9 p.m. ET.

The penultimate episode, which featured Top 2 finalists Theo Tams and Mitch MacDonald duking it out for the championship, was watched in whole or in part by more than 2.6 million Canadians and peaked at 1.65 million viewers in its second half hour. Canadian Idol was also the most-watched program of the day in the key advertising demo Adults 25-54 with 657,000 viewers, besting Prison Break by 11% (592,000, down 22%).
