CBC AND ABC TEAM UP ON HALF-HOUR PRIME-TIME COMEDY
18 TO LIFE

CBC Television has announced production will begin on 18 TO LIFE, a new single-camera comedy pilot, and that ABC has acquired the U.S. rights to the show, marking the first time a Canadian and a U.S. network have teamed up for a half-hour prime-time comedy.

“‘We shot part of the series in Indian Head and part of it in Regina and we were so impressed with the look and feel here we decided to do all of the off-location shots here (in town),’ said Michael Snook, one of the show’s executive producers. ‘It lets us put Little Mosque on the Prairie on the prairie.'” Read more.

“Taste Buds, a food adventure series aimed at children aged seven to 10, premieres Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. EST on TVOKids, Knowledge Network, Access Alberta and SCN. In New Brunswick, the show will only be able to be viewed online (www.tastebudstv.com). The show was created by marblemedia, the company Bishop cofounded in the late ’90s that has created a number of award-winning children’s TV series, including the hit This Is Daniel Cook and its spin-off This Is Emily Yeung.” Read more.
