  • Shirley Douglas makes guest appearance on ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’
    Douglas said she was surprised when she got the invitation to appear on the wildly popular teen show. “I used to watch Degrassi a long time ago, and I didn’t realize they’re still making it, because I don’t have any children at home and I don’t watch a lot of television for young people,” Douglas said in an interview. “So I was very excited when I heard they were still doing it.”

Queen Featured on Canadian Idol

Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor performed live at Toronto’s Canon Theatre last night as the special guests for next week’s “We Will Rock You” themed episodes on Canadian Idol. The pair was joined on the stage of the hit musical by the Top 7 Canadian Idol competitors as well as the entire cast of “We Will Rock You” for the show-stopping encore.

The blistering performance came after a day of workshops which saw May and Taylor mentor each of the seven remaining Canadian Idol finalists in advance of next Monday’s performance episode, airing August 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.
