“I was planning to be a carpenter, all I wanted to do was build houses,” says the actor, whose new Canadian comedy series Almost Heroes debuted this month (9 p.m. Thursdays on Showcase). “My father was into woodworking, my grandfather too. I grew up with tools and when I graduated from high school I went and framed houses for four years, really pursued that dream.”
