Emmy noms for The Tudors

CBC TELEVISION’S CO-PRODUCTION THE TUDORS NOMINATED FOR TWO PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS

The second season of THE TUDORS—a Canada-Ireland CBC Television co-production in association with Showtime Networks—has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series and Outstanding Costume for a Series. Statues will be handed out live, Sunday, Sept. 21, at the 60th Primetime Emmy® Awards in Los Angeles, California. Canadian viewers will have a chance to catch the steamy and dramatic 10-part Emmy®-nominated second season beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 9 p.m., on CBC Television.

THE TUDORS BEGINS A 10 WEEK ENCORE PRESENTATION OF SEASON ONE ON CBC TELEVISION

Heat up your Tuesday nights this summer with tales of betrayal, corruption, sex and desire. Beginning tonight at 9 p.m., CBC Television begins a 10 week encore presentation of THE TUDORS season one.

THE TUDORS chronicles the life of King Henry VIII, played by Jonathan Rhys Myers, a complex and passionate young man whose decisions changed the course of history. Catch all 10 episodes for the first time or enjoy the seduction for a second time around before the premiere of THE TUDORS season two on Tuesday, September 30 at 9 p.m. on CBC Television.

CBC Television announced its Fall 2008 schedule today, offering Canadians more of the homegrown programming they love the most: hot dramas and comedy, powerful documentaries, new movies and mini-series and the best in news and sports coverage.

    “However, the cancellation of Intelligence, which concluded its second season last November, is likely to be the most bitter disappointment for viewers. About a Vancouver drug baron named Jimmy Reardon and his intricate relationship with the CSIS, the show drew about 350,000 viewers each episode, but it was widely praised for its complexity and compelling intrigue. Made by Haddock Entertainment, which also made the Da Vinci’s Inquest series, it has been sold to several dozen countries and is under consideration for a remake as a U.S.-set series for the Fox network.” Read more.
