Banff World Television Festival Announces 2010 ‘Rockie’ Award Nominees at MIPTV

The 31st Banff World Television Festival (BANFF) and nextMEDIA are pleased to announce this year’s Banff World Television Award nominees, recognizing creativity and innovation from the world’s best television programming.

Chosen from 900 entries from more than 43 countries, the Banff World Television Awards, also known as the ‘Rockies’, is one of the world’s most prestigious events celebrating outstanding work by international TV creators responsible for the continuing evolution and originality in the industry. This year, pilots are also being recognized, with the inaugural Banff International Pilots Competition and Awards awarding talent and creativity in conceptualizing and creating online and television pilots.

Flashpoint picks up Monte Carlo Film Fest award nominations

  • Outstanding Actress, Amy Jo Johnson – Drama TV Series

The critically-acclaimed police drama, FLASHPOINT is nominated for four awards, which will be presented at the 50th anniversary of the Monte Carlo Film Festival’s prestigious Golden Nymph Award ceremony held on Thursday June 10th, 2010.

    “Apparently there was some sort of Canadian TV awards show on Saturday night. It drew 303,000 viewers on Global according to BBM Canada overnight estimates. Word is it was held in Calgary. Another 50,000 caught it on Showcase.” Read more.
