The critically-acclaimed police drama, FLASHPOINT is nominated for four awards, which will be presented at the 50th anniversary of the Monte Carlo Film Festival’s prestigious Golden Nymph Award ceremony held on Thursday June 10th, 2010.
Presided over by H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Festival recognizes television as an exceptional means of bringing cultures together and enhancing their respective knowledge. An international jury representing all creative aspects of television will select the winners. In each category, four Gold Nymphs will be awarded to the Best International Producer, Best European Producer, Best Actor and Best Actress.
FLASHPOINT depicts the emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of an elite group of cops in the Strategic Response Unit. The stellar cast includes Gemini award winner Enrico Colantoni (VERONICA MARS) as Gregory Parker, the team sergeant and head negotiator; Gemini award winner Hugh Dillon (DURHAM COUNTY) as Ed Lane, team leader and lead sniper; Gemini nominated Amy Jo Johnson (FELICITY) as Julianna “Jules†Callaghan, profiler; David Paetkau (WHISTLER) as Sam Braddock, the young hot-shot sniper on the team; and Sergio Di Zio (JUST BURIED) as Mike “Spike†Scarlatti, explosives and tactical toys expert.
Good luck to Flashpoint and Durham County. Both are great show with great actors. And a special good luck to my favorite Hugh Dillon.
Congratulatons on your nominations for outstanding actors (Amy, Rico and Hugh). You all are so deserving of such an award. Love the show and can’t wait to see more episodes in the near future. Best of luck to all of you. xxx
They didn’t mention Michael Cram as Kevin “Wordy” Wordsworth. He deserves kudos too!
