On Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, eight international comedians go head-to-head in a full-fledged battle of the wits for a shot at fame and $25,000 bucks. As an ongoing commitment to bring viewers Canada’s funniest talents, at this very moment, The Comedy Network is having serious talks about funny things with GREAT CANADIAN LAUGH OFF winner Mark Little and his sketch group Picnicface.

Hosted by YUK YUK’s founder Mark Breslin, 2009’s YUK YUK’s GREAT CANADIAN LAUGH OFF showcases the finalists’ 10-minute sets, and features highlights of “on the road to getting there.” The laughs come courtesy of Chuck Byrn, Graham Chittenden, Mark Forward, Mark Little, Cedric Newman, John Ki, Trixx and Ryan Garrett. Their material is so hot the only folks sweating more than the comedians, are the four judges – including The Comedy Network’s very own Director of Content, Michelle Daly. Joining her are Just For Laughs Festival CEO Bruce Hills, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien Talent Coordinator Ashley Olivia and Celia Joseph, Comedy Booker for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Evaluated on material, delivery, timing, stage presence, and audience response, Mark Little wins big bucks and bragging rights with his hilariously neurotic take on life proving that geek is chic.

Four-time comedy award-winner Mark Little is no stranger to the stage, the camera, or the script. Besides taking gold at YUK YUK’s GREAT CANADIAN LAUGH OFF, Little claimed the top spot at Toronto’s Just For Laughs 2009 Homegrown Comics Competition presented by The Comedy Network. In his home town, he was crowned Halifax’s Best Comedian in 2007 and 2008. As a writer, he’s worked on THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES, and writes and performs on the Canadian Comedy Award-nominated sketch group Picnicface.
