Gemini changes a good start, but hardly enough

  • Canadian TV has to be saved from itself
    This is all good. Mind you, it is hardly enough. The academy needs to save Canadian television from itself. The Canadian industry, as seen through the prism of the Gemini Awards, became self-regarding, delusional and outright hostile to the public and the press. The number of press releases trumpeting the triumph of a Gemini Award, an award utterly disregarded by the public and scorned by the press, was almost as laughable as the number of categories created by the academy. Real Housewives of Vancouver cast announced

The Cast of The Real Housewives of Vancouver Revealed

Va-va-Vancouver the Real Housewives are here. This spring Slice is indulging audiences with the year’s most buzzed about new Canadian series, The Real Housewives of Vancouver. The first Canadian installment of the world’s number one lifestyle reality franchise takes viewers on a wild ride into the extravagant lives of five of Vancouver’s most privileged, powerful and glamorous women. Debuting with a special two-hour premiere event on Wednesday, April 4th at 9:00pm ET/PT, the new series will settle into its regular time the following week, Wednesdays at 10:00pm ET/PT exclusively on Slice. 

After much excited speculation, the secret about the wives is out and Slice is giving Canadians five hot new reasons to love Vancouver: Christina, Jody, Mary, Reiko and Ronnie.  The must-see first season introduces this elite group of women and reveals intimate and often outrageous details about their relationships, career triumphs and pitfalls, sex lives and family drama.

These West Coast beauties love to live large in every sense including dining at top restaurants, partying at gala soirées, jet-setting on luxurious vacations, cruising in top-of-the-line cars, and shopping for the best designer clothes, shoes and jewelry. They stop at nothing as they try to re-launch a singing career, manage a high-end clothing boutique, train for a mixed-martial arts green belt, celebrate a land-mark birthday and start up a wine label.

Marg Delahunty, Warrior Princess returns to 22 Minutes, paying a visit to RCMP Commissioner, Bob Paulson, while Susan Kent and Meredith MacNeill head to Toronto to try their luck at ‘The Bachelor Canada’ auditions.

Bobby (Adam Beach) and Mel fight to protect Nelson from a hitman.

Saw Dogs, OLN -“Dances with Bears”
The carvers are asked to create a life-size sculpture of an 800-pound polar bear for its owner, a famed animal trainer. Guest carver J. Chester Armstrong is invited to create the likeness of the massive beast from a giant hunk of redwood. Chester, who has a degree in philosophy, seems to communicate directly with the spirit inside the wood. Meanwhile, Pete Rieger secretly carves a raven in exchange for a personal tattoo, much to the displeasure of Saw Valley boss Steve.
