Pretty darn impressive numbers for Heartland. Doyle is really going down. And Strange Empire is remaining steady showing good audience retention–too bad they were low to start.
One thing I found heartening about Strange Empire ratings were the Friday repeat numbers – almost the same as the original airing.
In my opinion, this show didn’t attract enough people due to the title which is really quite vague. Studies of how (most) live viewers choose new shows revealed that many people select a new show to watch based on the title that catches their eye on the channel guide. People tend to hit the guide button as soon as their show is over and scroll until they find something that catches their eye. Then they press info to see if it sounds good.
P.S. Those are good Friday numbers for a rerun. I think the competition for the show on Mondays is too great.
