Global greenlights Private Eyes West Coast

Today, Global announced it has greenlit a new Canadian original scripted series Private Eyes West Coast, a spinoff of the iconic and hugely popular Global Original Private Eyes, which aired on the network for five seasons from 2016-2021. Starring Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson, reprising their roles as Matt Shade and Angie Everett, the series comes from Lionsgate Canada and Piller/Segan.

Summer on the west coast has never been hotter as viewers will find Matt Shade (Jason Priestley) and Angie Everett (Cindy Sampson) leading surprisingly different lives in Victoria, B.C. With a group of new friends, and fresh faces to help them, TV’s favourite PIs adapt to a whole new world of cases in this vibrant west coast spinoff of Private Eyes.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Private Eyes West Coast spinoff, bringing Matt Shade back to the screen,” said Jason Priestley, series co-lead. “The Private Eyes series has been such a global success thanks to our incredible partners and talented teams at Corus, Lionsgate Canada and Piller/Segan, and I can’t wait for our audiences to see what surprises our new world has in store.”

The series comes from Lionsgate Canada and Piller/Segan, with Lionsgate Television managing international distribution. Shawn Piller and Lloyd Segan are acclaimed producers of commercially exciting premium television programming spanning the past thirty years including, in addition to Private Eyes, Wild Cards (CBC, The CW), adaptations of Stephen King’s novels Haven (Syfy) and The Dead Zone (USA Network) and ABC Family’s Greek and Wildfire.

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI), in partnership with Apple Orchard Productions, is pleased to announce the eight-episode Season 4 return of Mind Your Own Business.

Hosted by entrepreneur Kevin Shaw (second from left), who is blind, entrepreneurs in the disability community aim to take their businesses to the next level with help from high-profile Canadian mentors Karen Wong, co-founder and CEO of Takulabs Ltd.; Kelly Bron Johnson, founder and principal IDEA Advisor, Completely Inclusive; and Chris Gaulin, founder and CEO of Fastoche Canada.

Roneel started Bollywheels to challenge what people think a dancer should be. Now he’s turning to the mentors to discover what it takes to make Bollywheels a success in the business world and on the dance floor.

Keith Le Goy confirmed as keynote speaker for the 2025 Banff World Media Festival

The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) is thrilled to announce Keith Le Goy, Chairman of Sony Pictures Television, as a keynote speaker for its 2025 BANFF Summit Series. The 46th annual event will take place June 8–11, 2025, at the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The BANFF Summit Series, launched in 2019, has become the festival’s flagship program, spotlighting transformative thinkers and leaders shaping the future of media and entertainment.

“Little Women, Big League” – A Wild New Baseball Comedy Premieres March 13, 2025, on Bell Fibe TV1

Crave confirmed today that its critically-acclaimed original comedy series LATE BLOOMER returns for an eight-episode, second season beginning Friday, April 11, with two episodes. Produced by Pier 21 Films in association with Bell Media, the new season continues to follow millennial content creator Jasmeet Dutta (Raina) as he tries to balance his ambitions for success with his commitment to his family, community, and culture. LATE BLOOMER follows a weekly release schedule with two new episodes dropping on subsequent Fridays.

LATE BLOOMER connected with Crave audiences when it originally premiered in January 2024, ranking in the Top 10 for Canadian comedy series premieres on the streamer to date*.
