From a media release:

  • Critically acclaimed conspiracy thriller starring Canadian Actress and Golden Globe®-nominee Tatiana Maslany returns to CTV for Season 2
  • Rewind to the beginning: special Season 1 catch-up primer, available now on Space.ca

Enter the clones. The countdown is on with just four days to go until the critically acclaimed second season of ORPHAN BLACK makes the leap from specialty television to CTV for its network broadcast debut run. Airing Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning August 15, ORPHAN BLACK takes an early power position in CTV’s blockbuster fall slate. The strategic scheduling move expands the reach of the smash hit series, amplifying its exposure to viewers across the country ahead of its Season 3 premiere this winter on Space. Episodes of ORPHAN BLACK Season 2 will also be available on demand following each CTV broadcast at CTV.ca and the CTV GO App.

Also announced today, viewers can refresh or catch-up on the complete first season of ORPHAN BLACK with a special free, binge-viewing opportunity, now until Friday, Aug. 15 at Space.ca, ahead of CTV’s Season 2 premiere. Season 1 is also available in its entirety for purchase anytime on iTunes and in stores on Blu-ray and DVD.

In the Season 2 premiere of ORPHAN BLACK, entitled “Nature Under Constraint and Vexed” (Friday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV – check CTV.ca for local times), Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) is out of options, on the run, and being pursued by deadly adversaries. Desperate to find her daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler, ALPHAS), Sarah’s scorched earth tactics bring her face to face with the “pro-clone” Rachel. Meanwhile, with Alison’s carefully crafted suburban world spinning out of control, and the genetic illness affecting Cosima threatening them all, Sarah must negotiate a dangerous world of new enemies and shifting allegiances to get to the bottom of the experiment that made them who they are.

ORPHAN BLACK stars Canadian Screen Award winner and Golden Globe® nominee Tatiana Maslany (Picture Day, PARKS AND RECREATION), who to date has portrayed nine different characters (Sarah, Beth, Katja, Alison, Cosima, Helena, Jennifer, Tony, and Rachel). The ensemble cast is also comprised of Canadian Screen Award-winner Jordan Gavaris (UNNATURAL HISTORY) as Felix, Sarah’s foster brother; Canadian Screen Award-winner Maria Doyle Kennedy (DOWNTON ABBEY) as Mrs. S, Sarah and Felix’s hard-nosed working class foster mother; Dylan Bruce (NCIS) as Paul, Beth’s boyfriend with a secret linked to his army days in Afghanistan; Kevin Hanchard (REPUBLIC OF DOYLE) as Art, a veteran detective; Kristian Bruun (Life, MURDOCH MYSTERIES) as Donnie, Alison’s husband and monitor; Michael Mando (THE KILLING, BETTER CALL SAUL) as Vic, Sarah’s sporadically violent ex; and Skyler Wexler (ALPHAS) as Kira, Sarah’s seven-year-old daughter. Season 2 newcomers include Michiel Huisman (GAME OF THRONES) as Cal Morrison, a rugged, resourceful outdoorsman; Peter Outerbridge (NIKITA) as Henrik “Hank” Johanssen, a modern day cowboy; and Ari Millen (Monster Brawl) as Mark, a cunning predator with a dark edge.
