Total Drama All-Stars premieres January 9 on Teletoon

Heroes and Villains Are In It, To Win It in the TELETOON Original Series Total Drama All-Stars

TELETOON’s successful animated reality show returns with hosts Chris McLean and Chef. Total Drama All-Stars, the latest instalment in the TELETOON original Total Drama franchise, makes its Canadian debut on Thursday, January 9, 2014 with two back-to-back episodes beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT, during TELETOON’s Can’t Miss Thursdays programming block.

Fourteen fan-favourite cast members return this season to face the most dangerous and gruelling challenges yet, in pursuit of a one million dollar prize. Contestants will be split into two teams, the “Heroic Hamsters” and the “Villainous Vultures”, facing off in an epic battle of good versus evil. Each episode ends with one team member being eliminated by their peers, but this year being sent home early is more humiliating than ever, thanks to the Flush of Shame.

Produced for TELETOON by Fresh TV, Total Drama All-Stars is created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch. Executive Producers are George Elliott and Brian Irving. Total Drama All-Stars consists of 13 half-hour episodes.

New episodes of Total Drama All-Stars will continue to air every Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/PT throughout the winter season as part of TELETOON’s Can’t Miss Thursdays lineup, which includes new episodes of Adventure Time at 6 p.m. ET/PT, Annoying Orange at 6:15 p.m. ET/PT and TELETOON Original Productions Packages from Planet X and Grojband at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT respectively.

DRAGONS’ DEN returns this January to give past pitchers another opportunity to make a deal with the Dragons in the fan-favourite Second Chance episode. Airing Wednesday, January 8 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT), the first episode of 2014 features some of the most memorable pitchers from seasons past, as entrepreneurs return to the Den for a second shot at a deal.

In the DRAGONS’ DEN Second Chance special, optimistic entrepreneurs from across Canada enter the Den with their revamped business propositions. Each pitcher has previously faced rejection on DRAGONS’ DEN, but in this episode, they showcase what they’ve learned and try to prove that this time they have what it takes to succeed. With Elvis back from the Yukon, a DIY bidet creator and a couple of aspiring beverage peddlers, there’ll be no shortage of excitement this time around.

Also on the horizon is the 2014 Audition Tour, which kicks off in the New Year. Dates and details will be announced shortly. Aspiring entrepreneurs should start polishing up their pitches now for their chance to appear on a new season of DRAGONS’ DEN.

Additionally, for all the young moguls-in-the-making out there, the Future Dragon Fund Contest is accepting submissions until Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. ET. In this new contest, Kevin O’Leary is awarding $5000 each to ten ambitious grade 11 and 12 students who show promise as current or future entrepreneurs.

Details and regulations can be found online at cbc.ca/dragonsden/futuredragon. Current grade 11 and 12 students can apply by submitting videos explaining why they deserve to win and what they would do with the $5000 prize money. The winners will be announced each Wednesday until mid-March, 2014.

DRAGONS’ DEN is the highest-rated Canadian unscripted program on during the regular television season, with an average audience of more than 1.2 million Canadians each week. In addition to its success on-air, DRAGONS’ DEN is also a hit online, boasting an active and engaged online community averaging more than 650,000 page views per month. When Danny (Randal Edwards) learns he’s about to receive a major award for his pro bono work, his anxiety flares up thanks to a childhood award-related trauma. Ryan (Jay Malone) takes him to see his new, unorthodox therapist, Dr. Sydney Forbes (recurring guest star Pamela Anderson), but when Danny and Dr. Forbes become close friends, Ryan is sent into a tailspin of jealousy. Meanwhile, Sheldon (Harland Williams) enlists Kim’s (Julia Voth) help to teach him manners and attentiveness in hopes of winning back the girl of his dreams.

Diplomatic immunity prevents the homicide police from investigating a murder which occurs at an Eastern European consulate, and the C.I.U. is called in on the case. Rebecca (Chandra West) and Maria (Lisa Marcos) try to get through to the Consular Aide (Liane Balaban), while Moreland (Vincent Walsh) and Khali (Agam Darshi) take on the forceful, eccentric Consul (Noam Jenkins). The team unravels an international network of human trafficking, but will the Consul face justice?

Space congratulates ORPHAN BLACK’s Tatiana Maslany on her Golden Globe Award® nomination, as announced earlier this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association®. The star of the hit Space original series, from Temple Street Productions and produced in partnership with BBC America, was honoured for her critically-acclaimed work in ORPHAN BLACK with a nomination in the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama category, alongside heavy-hitters Juliana Margulies, Kerry Washington, Robin Wright, and Taylor Schilling. ORPHAN BLACK’s second season premieres Saturday, April 19 at 9 p.m. ET on Space. The 71st ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS® air Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.
