Production Details Announced for Season 3 of CTV’s Robson Arms

  • Celebrity owner buys Robson Arms to kick off third season
  • Robson Arms teams with Two and a Half Men Mondays on CTV this Fall

Dave Foley (Kids In the Hall, News Radio) is the new kid on the block on Robson Arms. CTV and Omni Film Productions Limited announced today that Foley is the first of many new and intriguing characters who join CTV’s Robson Arms for its third season, now in production. Thirteen, half-hour episodes shoot through late November in Vancouver, B.C. Scheduled to air Mondays at 9:30 p.m. later this Fall on CTV, Robson Arms bookends the network’s all-new Monday night comedy line-up, which starts with Corner Gas at 8 p.m. and continues with Big Bang Theory at 8:30 p.m. and Two and a Half Men at 9 p.m. (all times ET).

    “Right now, Paperny and his partners, Audrey Mehler and Cal Shumiatcher, are preoccupied with The Week the Women Went, a reality series to air on CBC in early 2008. The premise, which originated with the BBC, has all the women leaving a small town for a week, forcing the local men to cope with everything their wives or partners might normally perform. Paperny got the call to make the series for CBC and chose the small Alberta town of Hardisty, population 743. The filming was done in June and, according to Paperny, the show is both bizarre and entertaining. ‘I think this is the sort of populist programming that CBC wants to do right now. And I think it will be a hit. The footage of the women – they went to Canmore to enjoy themselves – is utterly fascinating.'”

  • Judges’ picks line up with votes in Top 18 elimination
    “Both Sass Jordan and Zack Werner forsaw the departure of rock goddess Naomi-Joy Blackhall and Toronto belter Scarlett Burke when asked at the beginning of the show which women they would send home. When asked which male singers would be on their way, judges Jake Gold and Farley Flex both named B.C. crooner Clifton Murray, but missed the mark when they chose Halifax rocker Dwight d’Eon – who landed in the bottom four, but did receive few enough votes to be eliminated. Also ending his Canadian Idol run was Sarnia singer-songwriter Andrew Austin, who wowed the judges during this week’s performance (the first-ever where a competitor on the show accompanied themselves with an instrument) but landed in the bottom four for the second week in a row.”

    “Clifton Murray, originally of Port McNeill, was given the heave-ho on last night’s episode of Canadian Idol, along with three other contestants. This makes Victoria 17-year-old Liam Styles Chang the Island’s only Idol.”

    “D’Eon is one of two Nova Scotians left in the competition. Like d’Eon Tyler Mullendore of Cape Breton will be among the Top 7 males to perform Monday night. Naomi-Joy Blackhall of Halifax was one of the two girls voted off during this week’s results show. Also voted off the show this week were Scarlett Burke, Clifton Murray and Andrew Austin.”
