Fashion Dis, hosted by Ardra Shephard, debuts February 9 on AMI-tv

Finally. An inclusive fashion TV show for people of all abilities. AMI, in partnership with Nikki Ray Media Agency (Fire Masters, Home to Win), is pleased to announce the debut of Fashion Dis —hosted by Ardra Shephard—on Wednesday, February 9, at 8 p.m. Eastern on AMI-tv.

Fashion Dis promises to be a game-changer in the makeover space, challenging traditional norms that lack inclusion. Each episode of Fashion Dis celebrates the head-to-toe overhaul of a frustrated style seeker discouraged by an industry that lacks adaptive options.

From innovative clothing design to transformative beauty techniques, our expert team reveals the latest in fashion-forward thinking and shows those ready to rock their best body exactly how to do it.

“It’s exciting to be part of something that’s never been done before,” says show creator and host Ardra Shephard. “I want the disabled style-seekers who watch Fashion Dis to feel seen, to feel elevated. I hope this show challenges what people think about disability. And in our own little way, I think Fashion Dis can be culture changing.”

Host Ardra Shephard
Ardra Shephard is the influential Canadian writer behind the award-winning blog, Tripping on Air. With an international reach and reputation, Ardra is a leader in the chronic illness community. Ardra is the host of AMI-tv’s ground-breaking new television series Fashion Dis and is a Healthline columnist (Ask Ardra Anything).

Ardra regularly writes for international publications and was recently featured on the cover of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Momentum Magazine, the largest MS-related publication in the world (winter 2020). She has contributed to FASHION, InStyle, WebMD, Everyday Health and others. Ardra was named one of the top MS bloggers “in the universe” by feedspot.com, and Yahoo Lifestyle reported that “@ms_trippingonair is the number one chronic illness account to follow on Instagram.”

In keeping with AMI’s mandate of making accessible media for all Canadians, Season one of Fashion Dis features Integrated Described Video (IDV) making it accessible to individuals who are blind or partially sighted. Season One of Fashion Dis was filmed under strict local COVID-19 protocols.

Fashion Dis debuts Wednesday, February 9, at 8 p.m. Eastern on AMI-tv. Episodes can be streamed on demand on AMI.ca and the AMI-tv App for Apple and Android.

AMI announces production is underway on new documentary series Fashion Dis, hosted by Ardra Shephard

Double Tap TV returns for its fourth season on AMI-tv

Double Tap TV, AMI’s popular television program focusing on tech from an accessibility point of view, returns September 14th 2021 for its fourth season on AMI-tv. Airing every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern, Double Tap TV hosts Steven Scott and Marc Aflalo  offer viewers an in-depth dive into the consumer tech industry – always asking, “Is this accessible to people with disabilities?”

“Last season we really hit our stride bringing our viewers really compelling interviews with some of the biggest names in the industry,” says co-host Steven Scott. “Not only do we talk to the Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and Google’s of the world, but we also shine a spotlight on some of the lesser-known companies developing amazing new tech. We are excited to bring viewers even more this.”

“Double Tap TV is one of our most popular shows. Mary Mammoliti gets cooking alongside Canadian chefs on AMI-tv’s Dish with Mary

Today, Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is excited to announce Mary Mammoliti’s latest project, Dish with Mary.

Mary Mammoliti—a home cook and food blogger who is partially sighted—knows her way around the kitchen, but can she navigate her way through an at home cook-along with Canadian chefs? Each episode of Dish with Mary will focus on one chef and one dish, PLUS a lot of laughs, a bunch of tips, and tons to dish about! And Dish with Mary is truly unique: while Mary is based in Toronto, the guest chefs connect with her from across Canada using the latest audio and video technology.

Dish with Mary debuts Thursday, September 16, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on AMI-tv. Stream episodes on AMI.ca and the AMI-tv App.

The eight Canadians Mary cooks alongside in Season one of Dish with Mary are Chef Paul Shufelt, baker Giselle Courteau, Chef Blair Lebsack, Chef Mariel Montero Sena, Chef Brad Smoliak, Chef Edgar Gutierrez, Chef Lindsay Porter and Chef Ted Reader. The recipes featured in each episode will be made available post-broadcast at AMI.ca.

Production of Dish with Mary was done with the strictest COVID-19 safety regulations in place.

Mary Mammoliti is no stranger to AMI. Her podcast, Kitchen Confession, dives into the minds and kitchens of chefs, authors, lifestyle experts, foodie friends, bakers and brewers who share their untold kitchen confessions along with insider tips and tricks of the trade. Find Kitchen Confession on your favourite podcasting platform.

Her bi-weekly Kelly and Company segments on AMI-audio spotlight current food trends, kitchen tips, local restaurant and food-related business highlights, holiday menu guides, meal planning and recipes listeners can try at home.

Additionally, Mary stars in A Taste of the Prairies on AMI-tv. The 2019 documentary finds Mary exploring the farm to table movement in Alberta before bringing a taste of the region back to her own kitchen for inspired recipes. Mary also brings her simple and tasty recipes to her Now We’re Cooking with Mary Mammoliti segments on the weekly newsmagazine show AMI This Week. Outside of AMI, Mary has shared her recipes on CTV’s ever popular The Marilyn Denis Show.
