From Heather M. of The Televixen:

Steve Byers Talks Slasher
“You never know how a scene like that is going to be. We were at the end of a bunch of night shoots, and then when you get down to it, it was a grueling couple of nights. We all get along really well [but] you get to a point where you’re happy that it’s done. I think that scene turned out really well.” Continue reading.

Slasher comes to a bloody end

This is it Canadian Slasher fans, the Season 1 finale, “Soon Your Own Eyes Will See,” is upon us. Friday’s last episode synopsis from Super Channel states, “Hurt and confused by Dylan’s betrayal, Sarah seeks solace with Cam while The Executioner works to exact a final vengeance.” Sure, that’s accurate, but clearly not enough information to satisfy die-hard fans.

Here’s a little more to tide you over until the episode airs.

Season 1 ends as it began, with Halloween
Kids are running around in costumes collecting candy, Robin is hosting a Halloween party in Justin’s honour and The Executioner isn’t quite done with his reign of terror. Yes, the seven sins have been addressed, but you can’t keep a good killer down, can you?

The Executioner’s past is revealed
Who is The Executioner and what screwed-up childhood lead to a life of murder and mayhem? We get the backstory and insight into what happened via flashback.

Sarah is in grave danger
She may not have been on The Executioner’s naughty list, but she becomes a target with one well-placed offensive move. You’ll know it when you see it, and leads to an emotional, graphic final scene.

Final thoughts
I’ve really enjoyed Season 1 of Slasher. Every time the show seemed to be heading into a corner story-wise, creator Aaron Martin veered into another direction. I’m also thrilled he signed on actors like Dean McDermott, Steve Byers and Erin Karpluk and challenged them with roles unlike ones they’ve played before. Fingers crossed Martin gets to do it all again with a new cast for a second season.

Slasher‘s Season 1 finale airs Friday at 9 p.m. ET on Super Channel.

Slasher reveals its killer

With Slasher‘s season finale airing next week, there are still a lot of unanswered questions lingering for the terrorized town of Waterbury.

We still don’t know who The Executioner is and why he’s killing everyone, except it has ties to Ariel’s disappearance. The latest victim, Chief Ian Vaughn, was revealed to have been keeping Ariel (and her son via Vaughn) captive in his basement and was burned alive in a coroner’s incinerator. (What a way to go.)

Super Channel teases Friday’s new episode, “In the Pride of His Face,” with the following logline: “Sarah learns that Dylan knew about her past before they met. Tom Winston escapes from prison, convinced that Sarah is going to be The Executioner’s final victim.”

We can do a little better than that, but we won’t spoil everything.

Officer Sharma is freaked out
Sharma, who was strangled by The Executioner while he stood vigil in front of Sarah’s house earlier this season, makes a major discovery in the case that ties the suffocation deaths of the Vicker family to the present-day occurrences. A creepy memorial to the Vicker clan—and sketches of the six sins—results in one character revealing themselves to be the killer.

Flash back to 1988
No surprise that what viewers saw happen on Halloween night in 1988 back in Episode 1 wasn’t the whole story. Now that Tom has confessed to being her father, Sarah confronts him and demands to know why he murdered Rachel and Bryan. We learn there was another side to the married pair, one that affected Tom so much he turned to extreme violence.

Dylan’s secret comes out
We’ve known about Dylan’s obsession with Tom, but someone else finds out too. The results are devastating.

Slasher airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Super Channel.

The Executioner takes a back seat to Vaughn on Slasher

Yes, Slasher is about a killer slaughtering small-town folks, but Friday’s new episode is almost exclusively about Chief Iain Vaughn. “The One Who Sows His Own Flesh,” is an examination into what motivates folks to make the decisions they do, and the impact it has on others.

Here are a few questions we get answers to on Friday night.

Why does the Chief have Ariel in his basement?
The shocking reveal at the end of last week’s “Gotten Gains” was Vaughn nabbed Ariel Petersen and was keeping her in a basement room along with a little boy. “The One Who Sows His Own Flesh,” retraces the event in a flashback and catches up with Ariel and her son, Jake. There are surprisingly tender moments in the scenes despite the shocking situation and credit to Dean McDermott for making Vaughn a relatable guy despite his actions. There is a reason for what he’s done, and that is explained.

Would a journalist kill members of his town to further his career?
That’s the question Sarah has for Dylan. Following the death—and deep-frying of Alison—Dylan has moved his things to her desk and is running the newspaper. He’s also looking to further his career even more than before, with expectations outside of being a talking head on a TV screen.

Why did Tom kill Sarah’s parents?
We got just a hint into the answer; expect more next week. Mainly because there are just two more episodes left.

Where is the FBI or RCMP?
After so many deaths in the town, why hasn’t a government authority descended on Waterbury to take over the investigation?

Slasher airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Super Channel.
