Production begins on Canadian Pickers season 4

Production Commences on Season 4 of HISTORY®’s CANADIAN PICKERS

One person’s junk is one Picker’s treasure! Cineflix’s hit series CANADIAN PICKERS is back on the road as production begins on its fourth season. Hosts Scott Cozens and Sheldon Smithens are dusting off their cowboy hats and are back touring the country in search of vintage collectibles and antiques, buying and selling pieces of Canadian history. Cineflix is producing 13 one-hour episodes in association with HISTORY.

This season, the Pickers are set to travel from coast to coast, making stops in Vancouver Island, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Whistler and more Canadian treasure troves. And marking a CANADIAN PICKERS first, the Pickers head across the pond, taking their passion for finding great antiques and collectibles to the UK, this Summer. The Pickers are looking for collecting aficionados with interesting stories, and even more interesting junk! Individuals who are interested on being on the show can apply by emailing canadianpickers@cineflix.com.

The Pickers are also hosting a live auction on March 17 for Season 4. Scott and Sheldon are auctioning off pieces from their personal collections, which they have been accumulating for the past 40 years. The auction, which is being held at Hall’s in Calgary, is open to the public. Bids can be made in person, by phone, absentee bidding, and real time internet bidding. Continuum returns April 21 to Showcase

SHOWCASE SETS DATE FOR HOTLY ANTICIPATED RETURN OF CONTINUUM

  • Season two world broadcast premiere on Sunday, April 21 at 9pm ET/PT

The wait is finally over. Showcase’s number one series, Continuum, returns this spring as announced earlier today by Rachel Nichols in a video released to fans via @showcasedotca. The critically acclaimed drama nominated for five Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Dramatic Series, stars Nichols (Alex Cross) as Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in present-day Vancouver. Featuring 13 hour-long episodes, the second season of Continuum premieres on Sunday, April 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Showcase.

Debuting to over 1 million viewers (2+)*, the first season of the critically acclaimed series saw Kiera Cameron (Nichols) searching for convicted terrorists from the future, known as Liber8, with the help of Vancouver detective, Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster; Castle). With unexpected assistance from teen tech genius Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen; Scream 4), Kiera desperately tried to bring down the terrorists before they changed the course of history forever in the explosive finale.

In search for answers, the highly anticipated sophomore season continues Kiera’s uneasy alliance with Detective Carlos Fonnegra, and sees her grapple with the big question that closed the first season – why was she sent there? While Alec struggles to understand the implications of the mysterious message he received from his future self, the Liber8 terrorists become more strategic and even more lethal as they seek to ward off what they see as the seeds of a disastrous future.

Rounding out the cast are Stephen Lobo (Smallville, Little Mosque On The Prairie), Roger Cross (Fringe, Arrow), Lexa Doig (V, Stargate SG-I), Omari Newton (Blue Mountain State, Sophie) and Luvia Petersen (The L Word).

With just days to go before saluting the best in the business, CBC Television and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television are proud to announce additional celebrity presenters for the much anticipated CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS airing this Sunday, March 3rd at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC Television.

Seven more presenters are set to join beloved comedian and host Martin Short, to honour our nation’s top film and television talent.
