Everything about Motive, eh?

Tonight: MasterChef Canada, Motive

MasterChef Canada, CTV – “From Home, with Love”
The Top 5 home cooks enter the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen and discover not one, but two Mystery Box surprises. One box is filled with ingredients, and the other huge box contains an inspiring, emotional message from their families back home. Emotions run even higher for the remaining home cooks when it’s revealed that their families are in the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen, ready to cheer them on. The winning home cook gets to assign a piece of culinary equipment to each of their competitors in a strategic, high-stakes Elimination Challenge.

Motive, CTV – “Purgatory”
A horrific murder at a surgical clinic leaves the detectives with two dead bodies. Detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) suspects someone is following her while Neville Montgomery (Victor Garber) is determined to seal the leak of information coming from inside his own company – and he suspects one of his closest staff members.

Tonight: MasterChef Canada, Motive, Big Brother Canada

MasterChef Canada, CTV – “Fine Dining Under Fire”
The Top 6 home cooks confront their most difficult team challenge: the Restaurant Takeover. The pressure is raised considerably when the teams learn that the professional kitchen they’re taking over is one of the finest in the country, and belongs to MASTERCHEF CANADA judge Michael Bonacini – Oliver & Bonacini’s Canoe. The losing team then faces a Pressure Test featuring a familiar comfort food that is deceptively difficult to master.

Motive, CTV – “Best Enemies”
Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman), Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira), and Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny) investigate a murder case in which a photographer, known for his sleazy treatment of women, is the prime suspect. Their efforts to solve the case are impeded by Internal Investigations Sergeant Gavin Saunders (David Lewis, Man of Steel), who interviews Sergeant Cross (Warren Christie), Lucas, and Vega about Angie and her methods.

Flashpoint’s Ed Lane is Canada’s favourite TV cop

Flashpoint may have gone off the air in 2012, but the cops of Toronto’s Emergency Task Force are still in our hearts. Ed Lane, specifically, who won our latest poll asking who their Favourite Canadian TV Cops were. Lane, played by Hugh Dillon, took the top spot with 5,737 votes.

In second place came Rookie Blue‘s Sam Swarek (Ben Bass) with 3,636 votes, Corner Gas‘ Davis Quentin (Lorne Cardinal) with 1,542 votes, Durham County‘s Mike Sweeney (Dillon again!) with 1,465 votes and Davis’ Corner Gas partner Karen Pelly (Tara Spencer-Nairn) with 995 votes.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Swarek’s primetime partners Gail Peck, Andy McNally and Oliver Shaw, Murdoch Mysteries‘ Det. William Murdoch and Haven‘s Nathan Wuornos. Several readers commented that Wuornos’ lady love, Audrey Parker, should have been an option but since she’s an FBI agent rather than a police officer, she wasn’t included as a choice.

After Angie (Kristin Lehman) drops her investigation of Neville Montgomery (Victor Garber, Titanic), she focuses on the murder of chef Chelsea Richmond (Sonja Bennett, YPF), murdered by her two-timing lover, Brad Calgrove (Chris Klein, American Pie). Maria Snow (Luisa D’Oliveira, 50/50), frustrated by Angie’s decision, discovers that Neville is now looking for the person who provided Angie with evidence pertinent to her investigation. Vega’s (Louis Ferreira) decision to keep information about his health issues from Angie creates a growing rift.
