SaskFilm, Vérité Films, Company Name Here Productions & CBC Television join forces to announce production of InSecurity, a new prime time comedy series to be shot in Saskatchewan

  • Award-winning co-producers of hit comedy series Corner Gas return to Saskatchewan with latest production

The Saskatchewan Film and Video Development Corporation (SaskFilm) is pleased to announce production on InSecurity, a 13 part comedy series co-created and co-produced by the award-winning production company Vérité Films (Corner Gas, renegadepress.com) and Kevin White (Dan For Mayor) for CBC Television. Filmed on location in the Regina region and in the state of the art Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios with additional shooting in Ottawa, InSecurity will begin principal photography in July 2010.

  • Spy comedy series to be shot in Regina
    “Shooting begins in July on InSecurity, a 13-part ‘action comedy’ about bumbling Canadian spies, producers said in Regina. … The show is scheduled to run on CBC Television next January. Although most of the production work will be done in Saskatchewan, the show is set in Ottawa and some additional shooting will be done in the nation’s capital.” Read more.

Durham County Season 2 nominated for Monte Carlo TV awards

WGC Screenwriting Award winners announced

Canada’s top screenwriters honoured at the 2010 WGC Screenwriting Awards

The Writers Guild of Canada celebrated the winning words of Canadian screenwriters tonight at the 14th annual WGC Screenwriting Awards. 148 scripts were nominated in the Awards’ 11 categories, and 43 finalist scripts vied for the winners’ circle.

Screenwriters Robert C. Cooper (Stargate Universe), Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky), Garry Campbell (Less Than Kind) and Kate Barris (Max and Ruby) were just of few of those recognized for outstanding scripts. A complete list of winners follows.
