New tonight: Durham County on HBO Canada – “Distance, Hunting and Home”

Things heat up when Detective Mike Sweeney starts putting pressure on Miro whom he believes is running money through Katya’s company and is involved in a gang war with the Chinese. When the police come by and take Miro’s computer for a forensic audit, Eva begs Mike to return it before Miro finds out. But when the police freeze his accounts, Miro learns he is a suspect in Katya’s death and begins to wonder if Ivan is setting him up. Mike keeps the pressure up on Ivan regarding Miro’s illegal dealings which increases tensions between them. The task force continues to interrogate Ousmene and Joseph (taxi driver) but both are too terrified to give up the name of their Chinese boss. Then the unexpected happens, and all that Mike knows to be true is turned upside down.

Gemini Award winners announced

2010 Gemini Awards Presented in Drama, Children’s and Youth, Comedy, and Variety Categories

Gemini Award winners in the Drama, Children’s and Youth, Comedy, and Variety categories were announced tonight at the second of two Industry Galas. Hosted by actor and director Art Hindle (E.N.G., Paradise Falls), a total of 38 awards were presented as well as the Margaret Collier Award and the Academy Achievement Award. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television also paid tribute to 2010 MasterWorks Television Honouree Polka Dot Door.

Winners in Documentary, Lifestyle, News, and Sports categories were announced on Tuesday, November 2nd. The 25th Annual Gemini Awards will conclude with the Broadcast Gala on Saturday, November 13th at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto. Hosted by Glee’s Cory Monteith, the event will be broadcast on Global and Showcase at 8pm.

New tonight: Durham County on HBO Canada – “Family Day”

When Mike learns that Ivan¹s wife Katya is still missing and her credit cards have gone unused for 5 days, he brings Ivan in for questioning. Ivan reveals that Katya confided in her brother that she is having an affair and that she is probably shacked up with her new boyfriend. Mike decides to keep things friendly with Ivan and play the game to get more insight. Meanwhile, Ivan is slowly coming apart and confronts Miro about Katya. Over at the station, Sabina brings in evidence found at the McHalphie¹s residence ­a Chinese pendant necklace and some gay pornography. Mike suspects a Chinese gang is to blame for the murders at the train station. Back at home, Audrey, who has just learned of Sadie¹s pregnancy, offers to help Ray Jr. get a job at the hospital while Sadie continues her undercover work. Sadie ignores orders and ends up at the loft of David Cho­ the Chinese drug trafficker paying off the young drug runners and gets an unexpected surprise. Mike and his partner Samuel hit another dead end with Ousmene and his driver, who still won¹t reveal their boss¹ name. As Ivan comes to terms with Miro¹s manipulations, Mike discovers, a startling connection between Miro and Ivan.
