Bryan Adams headlines Citytv’s star-studded holiday programming slate

This holiday season, Citytv and Citytv+ are delivering a gift-wrapped lineup of star-powered specials, merry movies, heartwarming surprises, and much more, beginning November 23.

Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams headlines new Citytv original Bryan Adams and Friends: A Great Big Holiday Jam, a one-hour special featuring festive hits and appearances from Alessia Cara, Alan Doyle, Barenaked Ladies, Lights, The Sheepdogs, and more – all set in Bryan’s intimate in-the-round Warehouse studio. With the warmth, spontaneity, and front-row energy of a live jam session, audiences are invited to share in the music, memories, and holiday magic. Broadcast details to be announced in the coming months.

“The holidays have always been a special time for me and I’m thrilled to be joined by some of Canada’s most talented artists. The Great Big Holiday Jam is going to be joyful and unforgettable – the perfect soundtrack to the season,” said Bryan Adams. 

On November 23, Citytv delivers the magic of the season in a live broadcast of the Original Santa Claus Parade from downtown Toronto. The live broadcast will be hosted by Breakfast Television’s Dina Pugliese, Tim Bolen, Rick Campanelli, and Devo Brown who will bring all the action from the parade route featuring a stunning array of decorated floats, lively bands, marchers, and more. More details on the Original Santa Claus Parade to be announced in the coming weeks.

Citytv hits the golden buzzer on dream team of judges and host for Canada’s Got Talent

Lights, Camera, Talent! As production on original series Canada’s Got Talent gets underway in Niagara Falls, ON next month, Citytv today unveils Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Kardinal Offishall, and Trish Stratus as judges alongside host Lindsay Ell for its highly-anticipated talent competition, airing exclusively on Citytv and Citytv.com this spring, with catch-up available on Citytv Now.

Bringing his infectious energy, warmth, humour, and a keen eye for astonishing talent, Howie Mandel is one of America’s Got Talent’s star judges with 11 seasons under his belt. He also hosts the weekly podcast Howie Mandel Does Stuff with his daughter Jackelyn Schultz.

Hailing from Scarborough, ON, entertainer, actress, writer and creator Lilly Singh brings passion, creativity, humour, and heart to the judge’s table where she will offer perspective from her own successful self-made journey in the entertainment industry to Canada’s bright new talents.

Award-winning artist, music label executive and producer Kardinal Offishall (affectionately known as Kardi) is a creative force and highly-respected leader in Canada’s music scene, who brings his larger-than-life personality and exceptional ability to seek out Canada’s new wave of superstars.

Rounding out the jury is wrestling Legend and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, who was named WWE’s #1 Greatest Female Superstar. This Sports Entertainer is also a world-renowned fitness icon, who has inspired generations of people around the world.

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television today announced Canadian born and raised comedian, actor and television personality Howie Mandel will host the Academy’s 2017 Canadian Screen Awards.

The Canadian Screen Awards will be broadcast LIVE on CBC from the prestigious Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on March 12, 2017.

Emmy-nominated Howie Mandel has remained a constant force in show business for over 30 years. His versatile career has encompassed virtually all aspects of the entertainment spectrum, including television, film and stage and he has served as executive producer for many shows through his production company Alevy Productions. Mandel currently serves as a judge on NBC hit summer talent competition series, America’s Got Talent, now in its 11th season.
