Old Enough! sets out on its biggest adventures yet, premiering September 27 on TVO

Blue Ant Studios and TVO Media Education Group (TVO) today announce the award-winning TVOkids Original series, Old Enough! (6×30), returns for Season 3 on Sunday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. ET on TVO and at 11 a.m. ET on the TVOkids and TVO Docs YouTube channels. Based on the iconic Japanese format, Old Enough! follows Canadian kids as they get their first taste of independence in the real world, embarking on errands all by themselves. 

After winning over audiences with its pint-sized participants, Old Enough! took home two 2026 Canadian Screen Awards – Best Children’s Non-Fiction Series and Best Picture Editing, Children’s or Youth – proving that big successes come in small packages. The series has also become an online sensation, with clips from previous seasons garnering millions of views on TikTok.

New for Season 3, brave, young adventurers will navigate errands in bustling downtown Toronto and now in other Ontario cities, including Cambridge, Brantford, Burlington, Hamilton, Port Colborne, Thornhill and Windsor. 

“Old Enough! has quickly become a fan favourite on TVO with kids and families alike, and we’re excited that Season 3 gives more Ontario children the chance to see themselves and their communities represented on screen,” said Kirsten Hurd, Commissioning Editor, TVOkids.

Canadian comic and improv legend, Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is it Anyway?), returns as narrator for the third season, helping to showcase the kids’ heart and humour through every high and low they face along their journeys. Mochrie’s narration in Seasons 1 and 2 both earned Canadian Screen Award nominations.

Old Enough! is produced by Blue Ant Studios, based on Nippon TV’s hit Japanese format of the same name. Executive Producers are Matthew Hornburg, Mark Bishop and Donna Luke. Carly Spencer serves as Executive Producer and Showrunner.

Tiny Adventures, Big Lessons: Old Enough! returns to TVO for Season 2

 TVO today revealed that Old Enough! (6 x 30) is back for a second season. The series, which follows Canadian kids, ages 3-6, as they take on real-world adventures, will premiere in Canada on TVO on Sunday, September 28.

Following the smash success of the series’ first season, Canadian comic and improv legend, Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is it Anyway?) will return as the series narrator for season 2. Mochrie’s voice once again will guide viewers through heartwarming adventures, as a new group of kids take on even more exciting challenges.

From smoothie runs to clothing shopping, everyday tasks become extraordinary adventures when tackled by newly empowered kids who have just experienced their first taste of independence. Each episode offers a glimpse into how families nurture independence, while a dedicated safety team ensures the kids are supported every step of the way.

Old Enough! is based on Nippon TV’s hit Japanese format of the same name. The TVO Original series, Old Enough! is a Blue Ant Studios production and the first North American format of the show. Executive Producers for Blue Ant Studios are Matthew Hornburg, Mark Bishop and Donna Luke. Mitch Burman serves as Series Producer and Eva Filomena serves as Senior Producer.

Blue Ant Studios announces Season 2 greenlight of Nippon TV’s Old Enough! with TVO

Old Enough!, the hit series, based on the wildly popular Japanese format from Nippon TV, is back for another season with six brand new 30-minute episodes. Co-produced by TVO and Blue Ant Studios, the new installment will premiere on TVO across Canada in 2025. The news was jointly announced at MIPCOM today by Matthew Hornburg, Co-President of Blue Ant Studios, Natasha Negrea, Head of Programming at TVO and Akane Alex Inoue, Global Format Licensing, Nippon TV.

Building on the success of its first season, Old Enough! returns with a fresh cast of children aged 3-5. This time you can expect more precocious kids getting their first taste of independence while embarking on even more impressive errands than before.

Matthew Hornburg, Mark J.W. Bishop and Donna Luke from Blue Ant Studios are Executive Producers for the series. Stefanie Haist is the Supervising Producer. Mitch Burman (Undercover High, Extreme Babysitting) serves as Series Producer and Showrunner. For TVO, Natasha Negrea is the Head of Programming, Kirsten Hurd is the Commissioning Editor, TVOkids and Alexandra Roberts is the Commissioning Editor, TVO Docs. For Nippon TV, Naoko Yano and Akane Alex Inoue are Executive Producers. Kiyotaka Tokunaga (Masquerade) is the Chief Director and Ayaka Isshiki is the Producer for the original Japanese series. Tom Miyauchi (Sokkuri Sweets/Eye Candy, Mute it!) is the Format Producer and Yuko Nakano is the Flying Producer. Blue Ant Studios oversees the international tape distribution of the Canadian version. Old Enough! was produced with the participation of the Canada Media Fund.
